Fool’s Paradise Day

July 13

First occurrence:

“A fool’s paradise” is a term that dates back to the writings of Shakespeare where he uses this to describe a state of blissful self delusion getting a the way of dealing with urgent reality.
“I wold not be in a folis paradyce.”
“I will keep to myself:
but first let me tell ye, if ye should lead her into
a fool’s paradise, as they say, it were a very gross
kind of behavior, as they say: for the gentlewoman
is young; and, therefore, if you should deal double
with her, truly it were an ill thing to be offered
to any gentlewoman, and very weak dealing.”

Today a “Fool’s Paradise” can be used in a more tongue in cheek way to just give your mind a very temporary pause from the harshness of everyday’s life.
Just today, all the bad things that you can harmlessly keep at bay, are out the door and indoors there is just your happy today.
