Boom!On November 5 in 1605 Guy Fawkes was the hapless very suspicious looking guy found guarding a huge load of explosives that were positioned beneath the House of the Lords in London.
He was arrested, tortured and executed and to add insult to injury straw representations of him are burned each year on November 5.
Wow, really sucks to be him..There is some controversy about what actually happened.
Making a very long story short it was pretty much a fight between Catholics and Protestants and political elements mixed in.
Either a terrorist action was prevented from happening or people were framed.
The opinions about this vary wildly. Most people agree that Guy Fawkes Night is a cool excuse to have a nice warm bonfire with a party.
And that Guy Fawkes masks make cool disguises for people who want something that looks more stylish than a balaclava to stay explicitly anonymous.
