International Migrants Day
An event every year that begins at 00:00 on day 18 of December, repeating indefinitely
International Migrants Day celebrates the General Assembly adopting a resolution on the International Convention on the Protection of the Rights of All Migrant Workers and Members of their Families in 1990 on December 18.
This is quite a controversial thing as many people think that migrants are either valuable assets or will “take our jobs!” or simply come for the supposed “free money”.
Let us realize that the fact that people leave their home, family, friends and often even more means that the migration itself is not a step lightly taken and is a very clear symptom of the very dire need for regulation of travel, jobs and wealth internationally.
Now if only people were better at agreeing on things…
