The date of last Friday of February was celebrated first in 2008 when it was created by David Shepherd and Travis Price.
The reason was a student at Central Kings Rural High School in Cambridge being bullied for wearing a pink polo shirt on his first day of school.

The pink wearing student nearly escaped being beaten up.
So to prevent any future violence and to make a stance against petty intolerance David and Travis bought about 50 discounted pink shirts to distribute among any fellow student willing to participate.
Many other students already had something pink and thus over a hundred students wearing pink showed up that day.
Thus creating a “sea of pink” in school.
It is said that nobody in that school was ever being bullied for wearing pink again.
The “Sea of Pink” made the news and it became a yearly event now extended to a second event to be held in Anti-Bullying Week.

🌸
Bullies like to torment people who they see as easy targets. The reasons they give for the bullying usually make no sense because those reasons merely serve as cheap excuses for the bullies’ inexcusable behaviour.
The theme for this day is wearing a pink shirt.
Don’t accept anyone telling you that you shouldn’t wear that shirt, shouldn’t wear those shoes, shouldn’t like the music you like.
Don’t accept bullying!
