International Pisco Sour Day
February 4, 2023

When: First Saturday in February |
Where: 🌐 Everywhere |
First occurrence: 2003 |
National Pisco Sour Day was established as an official national holiday in Peru. But somewhere along the years, the whole world joined in because apparently pisco sour is that tasty! |
||
2 parts Pisco 1 part lemon juice 1 egg white (remove the salmonella) syrup to taste Serve in a lowball glass🥃 The base of this mix drink is the pisco, which is a type of brandy made with grapes made in Peru or Chile. Pisco makers pride themselves on using the yeast from the grape skins for the fermentation instead of adding it from external sources. (The role of yeast in fermentation is that the yeast turns sugars into alcohol.) |
