In 2006 Mayor Keith Summey of North Charleston (South Carolina) proclaimed June 1 to be annually celebrated as Say Something Nice Day.
The founder of this day is Mitch Carnell, the author of “Say Something Nice: Be a Lifter at Work”.
💬
Say Something Nice Day was created to counteract bullying and other inconsiderate and harmful behaviour. Being nicer than usual for a day on purpose can be a great practice in awareness of how we perceive the kindness we give and what we receive.

“Kind words do not cost much. Yet they accomplish much.”
–Blaise Pascal
