When:
When Sun, Earth and Moon align precisely
Where:
Best viewed from the earth on a clear night sky
First occurrence:
Before humans
When the Earth is exactly between the Moon and the Sun,
then the shadow of the Earth covers the Moon completely.

This we call a Total Lunar Eclipse.
🌚
The shadow of the Earth on the Moon often looks a bit red.

This is why a Total Lunar Eclipse is also called a Blood Moon.
This Blood Moon is not the same as the Blood Moon in October
which is not a red moon but just a figure of speech.
