The first mention of milkshake in print was recorded to be in 1885, describing a drink mainly made of cream, eggs and whiskey.
The milkshake made with ice cream became popular in the 1920ies.
The person credited with making the ice cream milkshake popular in 1922 was Ivan “Pop” Coulson. Ivan was an enthusiastic mixer of cold drinkable concoctions.
1922 was also the same year that Steven Poplawski invented the bottom-motor blender. This blender made shaking drinks until they got all bubbly and frothy even more easy than the already popular cyclone mixer did the decade before.🥤
