On the Roundworld (our world) “Wear the Lilac Day was a creation by Terry Pratchett in his Discworld novel “Nightwatch” (published in 2002).
After Terry Pratchett was diagnosed with alzheimer’s in 2007, the following date of May 25 in 2008 made wearing the lilac also bear
the meaning of a signifying support for the research in battling alzheimer’s.
