World Cider Day was created and first celebrated in 2016 by the members of the Association of Apple Wine and Fruit Juice Press Houses in Hesse, Germany.

Cider is officially an alcoholic drink made from fermented apples. Though in some parts of the world “cider” is also often used for apple juice or simply soft drink, while the alcoholic cider is referred to as “hard cider”. Good to know when you’re ordering cider!
