Candy Corn Day is celebrated every year on October 30.
Candy Corn was made in the 1880s by George Renninger, who worked for the Wunderle Candy Company.
In 1898 the Goelitz Confectionery Company ( currently known as the Jelly Belly Candy Company) and sold it as “Chicken Feed.”
Back then managing to get the candy so neatly in 3 separately layered colors was a big novelty so it became a hit.
Currently we are not that easily impressed and the lack of flavor has made candy corn an unpopular kind of candy if wasn’t so incredibly cheap.
