Celebrated every year on November 22.
Housing Day was created in 1998 by the mayors of some of the largest cities in Canada to recognize and establish homelessness as a national disaster instead of blaming the homeless like people so often do.
Today we recognize that while some homeless people do owe their homelessness to themselves, they are often the most visible minority.
With many more homeless people being homeless not of their own fault, who hide their homeless state.
These people deserve and desperately need help build up their life again.
“Seven out of 10 Americans are one paycheck away from being homeless.”
