Celebrated every year on the fourth Friday in November.
Maize Day was created in 2004 by Corinne Lightweaver
to enjoy the food that has sustained humans on the Americas
for at least thousands of years.
Maize in the the Americas
is like wheat in Europe,
except better with butter
and more fun to eat on the cob.
“Corn can add inches in a single day;
if you listened,
you could hear it grow.”
