Doughnut Day

Doughnut Day is celebrated on the first Friday of June of each year and on November 5.

Doughnut Day being celebrated on the first Friday of June was an initiative in 1938 of the Salvation Army in Chicago to honor the Doughnut Girls who helped boost the morale of US soldiers in France in WW I ….. and as a fundraiser to help the poor during the Great Depression.

The holiday on November 5 was probably commercially motivated.
Much like International Jelly-Filled Doughnut Day,  Cream-Filled Doughnut Day and Glazed Donut Day.
