International Translation Day

International Translation Day

Celebrated every year on September 30

International Translation Day is on the same day of the feast day day for Saint Jerome, who began work on translating the Bible from Greek to Latin.
Saint Jerome is considered to be the patron saint of translators to mostly catholic people.

In 1953 the International Federation of Translators declared September 30 to be International Translation Day, to raise awareness for professional translation in connecting nations.
