Celebrated every year on November 1.
Vinegar is one of our oldest processed food ingredients.
It is quite easy to make. A fruit juice or wine goes sour and, voila, you have vinegar.
The oldest written mentions of the use of vinegar can be found in Babylonian scrolls dating from at least 5000 BC.
Vinegar is not only great for cooking and salads. But can also be used to preserve food, as yet not scientifically confirmed folk medicine, for pest control and for cleaning and polishing.
Vinegar is versatile!
