Celebrated every year on March 1

World Compliment Day began in 2003 as “National Appreciation Day” in the Netherlands created by Hans Poortvliet with the intention of creating a positive holiday.
The goal of National Appreciation Day was that everybody participating in this holiday would give at least three different people a compliment that day.
The holiday was a success and in 2011 it was extended into World Compliment Day to create “The Most Positive Day in the World”.
