Celebrated every year on November 14.

World Diabetes Day was created in 1991 by the International Diabetes Federation and the  World Health Organization to raise awareness and give information about the increasing rates of people with diabetes world wide.

November 14 was chosen because it’s the birthday of Frederick Banting who was the co discoverer of insulin in 1922, along with John James Rickard Macleod and Charles Herbert Best.
